Work That Sits at the Centre of Important Decisions
At TWYD, we work with founders, family owned businesses and family offices at the points where leadership decisions really matter.
The work isn’t straightforward. It rarely is.
It’s shaped by history, relationships, ownership and what isn’t being said as much as what is. Roles are only part of the picture. The dynamics around them are usually where the real decisions sit.
Our job is to bring clarity to that and help clients make the right call.
That requires people who can read the room, form a view, and know what good looks like. People who are comfortable sitting with ambiguity, asking the right questions, and saying the difficult thing when it needs to be said.
We’re not driven by volume, and we’re not interested in filling roles for the sake of it. The quality of our thinking directly shapes the quality of the appointment, so we take the time to get it right.
The People Who Tend to Do Well Here
This isn’t a typical recruitment or advisory environment.
The people who tend to do well here are those with strong commercial judgement and a practical way of thinking. They are comfortable working without a script, able to pick up on what is really going on, and clear in their own mind about what good looks like when assessing leaders.
They build trust quickly, but quietly. They are self-aware, low ego, and focused on outcomes rather than activity.
You might have come through executive search, advisory, consulting, or from within a founder or family owned business or family office. Background matters less than how you think and how you operate.
The Work Itself
The work sits somewhere between search and advisory.
We support board and executive appointments, succession decisions, and the shaping of leadership roles. That might mean refining a brief, challenging assumptions, assessing candidates properly, or helping a board reach a decision with confidence.
Search is often the entry point, but it’s not the full story.
How We Work
We tend to work with a small number of clients at any one time, often over longer periods. The environment is calm and focused. There is space to think, and an expectation that you will.
We’re not process-heavy, but we are clear on standards. People are trusted to use their judgement and take ownership of their work.
There is flexibility in how people work with us. Some join on a project basis, others as part of the core team. The shape tends to follow the individual.
This Won’t Suit Everyone
If you’re looking for structure, volume, or a clearly defined playbook, there are better environments for that.
If you’re comfortable forming a view, taking responsibility, and being judged on the quality of your thinking, then we should talk.
